- Voor Nederlands zie onderaan - The Knotwilg is an organic market garden in Zuidoostbeemster since 1980. The bulk of the work falls in the period from halfway July until the end of August. There is then plenty of harvesting, planting, hoeing and weeding to be done. The vegetables and soft-fruit go to the organic market in Amsterdam and Den Haag: for example red currants, gooseberries, strawberries; later plums and blackberries; all sorts of salad, endive, cabbages, pumpkin, zucchini etc. The work is in the first instance adapted to what the garden and the market require. Motivation, ability and experience also play a role. The second floor of a shed is available. A klamboo in summertime is preferable. There're some available, but you can take also your own. The housing is primitive, but you can use the shower in the house as long as you'll use organic shampoo. For a description (in dutch) of the garden see also the website. Tuinderij de Knotwilg in de Zuidoostbeemster is een biologisch bedrijf sinds 1980. Het zwaartepunt van de werkzaamheden valt in de periode van half juli tot en met eind augustus. Dan wordt volop geoogst, geplant, geschoffeld en gewied. De groenten en het kleinfruit gaan naar de biologische markt in Amsterdam en Den Haag: bijvoorbeeld rode bessen, kruisbessen, aardbeien, later pruimen en bramen, allerlei slasoorten, andijvie, koolsoorten, pompoenen, courgettes enz. De werkzaamheden worden in de eerste plaats aangepast aan wat de tuin en de markten vragen. Ook spelen motivatie, kunnen en ervaring een rol. Het is mogelijk een tent op te zetten.
