I visited Sanne's place in summer with two friends and we had an amazing time! It was the first time wwoofing for all of us and we were a bit unsure of what it would be like but Sanne made us feel so comfortable and at home. The farm feels like a real sanctuary for all the people, animals and plants that are there. The work was varied and interesting, and we learnt so much about sustainable and traditional farming. Sanne was also very generous with the amount of free time we had, and gave us lots of tips for places to visit. The caravan was very comfortable and all the animals are lovely, I would definitely recommend wwoofing here!

Sid and Nella are incredible hosts. From greeting us at the bus station to providing us with bikes upon arrival, we felt very welcomed. We harvested potatoes and apples, made apple juice, weeded the vegetable garden and assisted in the kitchen with dishes during a group stay. We worked from 8am to 5pm each day with an hour break for lunch. The vegetarian meals Nella made were super tasty, especially stuffed zucchini and quiche. Sid is a wealth of knowledge about organic gardening, politics, history, and more. Since he is originally from the US, we had a lot to talk about, and were able to connect over a shared culture. Our room had lovely sunlight in the evening and was near the front of the monastery. We had access to the meditation and yoga room which was a great benefit to our mental and physical health. The monastery is a peaceful place, we highly recommend staying at de Weyst if you have the opportunity!

​Steeping into Mara and Arthur’s homestead in the Dutch countryside for our very first WWOOFing experience was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a life centered around simplicity, hard work and genuine connection. Meeting this incredible family was a pure delight, and we felt instantly at home. ​Our daily routine was filled with small, meaningful tasks that brought us closer to the rhythms of nature. Every morning began with the joyous ritual of saying hello to the pigs—a highlight we cherished deeply. We took care of the new chicks! We even had the honor of ringing them so we could easily identify them once they settled into their newly cleaned and freshly painted cozy coop. ​Some tasks proved to be quite a physical challenge, like attempting to dig out the future pond and natural pool. But the effort was entirely worth it—especially since we could escape the mid-day heat by diving straight into the nearby river for a refreshing swim between our chores. ​The food was an experience in itself. Every meal was a celebration, from tasting Mara’s exquisite vegetarian cooking to gathering around a hearty pork barbecue with new friends we met along the way. Sharing stories, delicious food, and laughter made every evening unforgettable. ​Mara and Arthur took care of us with such warmth and generosity. My only hope is that the help we provided was worthy of the incredible hospitality and love they showered upon us.
