We are two families who run a farm together. We live in Overlangel, near Nijmegen, in a renovated old farmhouse. We are transforming the former grassland into a market garden. We grow vegetables and fruit, both perennials and annuals. We do this with eye for nature, soil, and healthy food. We also grow vegetables and fruit in Groesbeek, our second location, half-hour drive from Overlangel. We see our farm as a community farm where people come together. However, we started in the fall of 2025, so there's a lot of work to be done. Luc (39) and Tatum (35) live on the farm with their sons, ages 3 and 1. And of course, our cat, Henk. Lori (38), Tatum's sister, is the head farmer. She doesn't live on the farm but can be found working the land almost daily. Her son (8) and husband will also be regularly on the farm. The work on the farm will be varied and depend on the season. Some of the tasks include: propagating plants, pruning, harvesting, fencing maintenance, tractor driving, tree planting, sowing, and greenhouse construction. During an intake interview, we can clearly outline your planned activities for that period. Our farm has an outbuilding that's fully equipped as a house. You enter through the garage, and a temporary kitchen has been set up in the utility room. We'd like to install a proper kitchen as soon as possible. But for now, everything you need to cook is there. There's a living room with a sofa, TV, table, and bookcase. A shower and toilet are located in the hallway. The spacious attic contains a double bed, a bunk bed and a single bed. The beds are seperated with curtains for privacy, but are all in the same room (a dorm-like situation). If you like camping or want more privacy, you could also sleep in a tent in spring or summer. The cottage overlooks the garden, and you can sit outside directly from the house and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We'll share a meal together every day. Sometimes it will be lunch, sometimes it will be dinner. There's also time for coffee and breaks together. To give the children a bit of peace after childcare, we won't eat together every evening (but we will have lunch that day). On those days you can cook your own meal with the food we will provide. Sometimes you'll have lunch and/or dinner with Lori, and sometimes with Tatum and Luc (or all together with all the children, which is nice and chaotic). This depends on who's working the land that day. Next to our house is a beautiful nature reserve with wild horses and cattle, where we love to walk. We also regularly enjoy a beer at a nice cafe or coffee at a nearby forest café. Luc enjoys mountain biking and running. Lori has many creative hobbies, such as spinning wool. She also practices horse powered tillage (her work and hobby blend seamlessly). We love a campfire on the weekends, preferably with Lori's husband playing the guitar. Or a game night when it is cold or rainy outside. Our house is a 15-minute bike ride from Ravenstein station. By train, you can reach Nijmegen in 15 minutes, or 's-Hertogenbosch in the opposite direction. Two cities teeming with life, cafes, parties, shops, and basically everything you need for a fun weekend. So we encourage everyone to explore the surrounding area, whether you enjoy peace and quiet and nature, a vibrant city life, or a combination.

This was my first WWOOF experience and it's been really positive. I spent 10 days at the farm, which just started in October, so there was a lot of preparation to do with the land and the first plants were being placed. It was intresting to listen Lori sharing her knowledge and explaining to me why we were doing things a certain way. Lori is kind and mindful, so I was able to check in with her about what my limits and capabilities are. I felt warmly welcomed by Tatum, Luc and the lovely kids that live at or around the farm(Jimy, Ture and Floris). It was great to experience this type of work and also spend free time outdoors in the beautiful surrounding area. I hope to visit again and defenitly this experience makes me look forward to do more WWOOFING.
