Homestead for Self-sufficient Living and Green Community
Sint Maarten
We are a passionate community of sustainable agriculture enthusiasts based on a Caribbean island. Our project centers around a vibrant eco-lodge and permaculture education center, where we're developing innovative approaches to tropical agriculture and sustainable living.
Our close-knit team consists of permanent staff members and international volunteers who share our vision for sustainable food systems and community-driven agriculture. Together, we're creating an educational hub that combines traditional farming wisdom with modern permaculture practices.
Our 0.14-hectare (1400 m2) property features thriving permaculture gardens, aquaponics systems, and community spaces. We're particularly focused on developing sustainable food systems and providing hands-on agricultural education. Starting late 2025, we'll serve as a micro-campus for an agricultural institute, offering practical training facilities for students studying permaculture and aquaponics.
The property maintains its historical charm, featuring original 18th-century elements like traditional stone walls alongside our modern sustainable innovations. This unique blend of heritage and innovation creates an inspiring learning environment for all who join us.
Our daily activities revolve around tropical permaculture, sustainable food systems, and eco-tourism initiatives. We focus on innovative agricultural practices adapted to our Caribbean climate, combining traditional wisdom with modern sustainable techniques.
