My name is Dieneke, I live on the island of Schouwen Duiveland on a beautiful spot in the countryside. I am an organic farmer/teacher with a mission to educate and produce healthy and delicious food. We are a family with 2 sometimes 3 persons. Their are cats and chicken around;)
My mission at the moment is to convert a common piece of agricultural land of 5 ha into organic nature inclusive (trees and shrubs planted, growing crops in combination that bring the soil back to a healthy condition.)
The work at the moment is: Weeding, but also interspersed with other work, on a new piece of agricultural land of 5 ha, which is now being converted to nature inclusive / agro ecological (trees and shrubs planted, growing crops in combination that bring the soil back to a healthy condition), maintaining the farm. Working with me for an average of 5-6 hours a day.
I cook a hot meal every day, you eat with the family, we don't eat meat. Lots of vegetables as much as possible fresh from our own garden. Healthy food.
It is handy if you have a little tent to sleep in. I can have 1 or 2 persons to help me out

I had a really good time at Danieke 's farm. It is something to live an entire week outside, between the work in the farm, the sleep in the tent and the rest in the glass room. After this I felt more calm and more connected with nature. The place is really peaceful. The work was physically a bit hard for me (but that was my first time working in a farm). Danieke kindly lend me a bike, in 10 minutes ride, I could be near to the sea. I also had the chance to go to a bigger city on the island (Zierikzee), it is a cute place.
She is an interesting person, I am amazed by her will to go chase her dream.

I spent a week in this wonderful place. The hosts were very friendly and open-minded. I slept in my tent and had a glass room as a living room.
I really enjoyed discovering the farm life and the work I did was varied (weeding, harvesting, taking care of seeds).
Special mention for Dieneke, a very kind and interesting woman. I loved spending my days with her and I learned so much! And I really enjoyed the meals.
I can only advise you to go there.

I had such a wonderful time being hosted by Dieneke, she was incredibly hospitable and accommodating to all needs of myself and another wwoofer I got to share my stay with. We mostly did weeding when the weather permitted and Dieneke was very eager to work alongside us and have conversation. A beautiful energy surrounds her and her farm, very grateful for the experience and hope to return:)
