Small-scale agro-ecological farm with a focus on seasonal vegetables
Utrecht
UPDATE: We started reviewing requests for the 2026 season. APRIL 2026, MAY 2026, JUNE 2026, JULY 2026, AUGUST 2026 are fully booked and we cannot accept new request for these months! We only have availability in March, September and October.
Hi there, we are Stefan and Eveline and we run a small agro-ecological farm where we grow around 100 different types of seasonal vegetables, some herbs and some fruits (mostly berries). We live together with about 30 pets; chickens, ducks, dogs, cat, geckos, bunnies, goats, and our pigs. We own a little farm shop on site, where we sell our produce directly to our customers.
We start each day with checking on our animals, harvesting produce for orders and working at our market garden. Typical chores including weeding, planting, sowing, building simple constructions for the plants to grow up and mowing grass to maintain the market garden. We grow our own plants from seeds, so we spend quite some time taking care of the seedlings. We have a cosy greenhouse (~130m2), when it rains we often work there.
you will be staying in our guest apartment with private entry, your own kitchen (incl laundry machine), bathroom, living room and bedroom. The guest apartment has one bedroom with a single queen sized bed, that easily fits two people. We will only host two people at the same time if you travel together (couples, friends etc) and if you agree to share the bed, we will never set you up with a stranger. We will eat lunch and dinner together at the farm house or in our garden, breakfast will be provided to be prepared in the guest apartment, as especially early mornings can sometimes be a bit hectic for us with rushing to get everything done in time. We also work with a small group of local volunteers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (they start at 09:00am). Our own work hours depend on the season and the weather. Weekends are off, you can us that time to relax and/or go sightseeing. We have bicycles that you can use to get around and there is a bus stop in town that will bring you to various nearby cities and train stations. We try to offer diverse chores, in summer there always will be a lot of weeding.
We love spending time with our animals, cooking meals and enjoy being outside. There are a lot of good hiking and (mountain)biking areas close-by. We live in an area with a high density of dreamy castles, great restaurants and cities as Utrecht, Amersfoort and Wageningen are just a short car drive or bus/train trip away.
Please include a little bit about yourself and your motivation (eg. your age, country of residence, your current occupation/activities) in the visit request, and also why you picked our farm, what you are looking forward to during your stay at the farm, what kind of work you would like to do, and whether you have experience in any of the listed chores. We do prefer stays of 2-4 weeks, such a time frame gives you the opportunity to learn quite some different jobs at the market garden, work independently, enjoy our beautiful region, and that way we also get to know each other better.
Expected chores/month:
-March & April: preparing market garden (spreading compost, woodchips), sowing vegetables
-May: Market garden maintenance (weeding), sowing vegetables, harvesting vegetables, planting seedlings, mowing paths
-June: Strawberry season (daily fruitpicking)! Market garden maintenance (weeding), planting seedlings, mowing paths
-July: Bean and potato season! Market garden maintenance (weeding), planting seedling, mowing paths
-August: Tomato, bean, raspberry and Zucchini season (daily picking). Market garden maintenance (weeding), mowing paths
-September: Pumpkin season, peak of harvest season. Market garden maintenance (weeding), mowing paths
-October: harvesting vegetables, picking raspberries, preparing the market garden for winter (remove plants, cover beds)

Our first woofing experience was a wonderful discovery!
We were lucky to stay with Eveline and Stefan, who welcomed us with a lot of kindness. Always attentive, they know how to make volunteers feel at ease from day one.
Working in the garden was a real learning experience: harvesting beans, picking raspberries, discovering different types of plants... It's varied, interesting, and accessible to everyone.
We also enjoyed the company of the other volunteers, with whom communication was easy and pleasant.
The balance between work and free time is very well thought out. This allowed us to fully enjoy the Netherlands: walks in Utrecht, discovering Amsterdam, visiting windmills... The country is full of beautiful places to explore.
If you love animals, you will be very happy: you can feel all the love and care they give them, which makes the experience even more memorable. The accommodation provided is very comfortable: a spacious, well-equipped, and pleasant apartment.
You quickly feel at home.
We would definitely recommend Eveline and Stefan to any wwoofer. You can be sure that you will receive a warm welcome and have an enriching and authentic experience.

Staying at eveline and stefen was really enjoyable! They’ve been very kind and welcoming to me, and made me feel at home from the very beginning. The work in the farm was very pleasant to me, sometimes tiring but it has to be so! I appreciated that they explained every task with passion and care, and made me learn so much about farming!
Also they gave me a bike to enjoy my free time and visit many places nearby
I strongly recommend this experience!

I had a really lovely time at Stefan and Eveline's beautiful farm. It was my first time WWOOFing and I'm so glad it was here as they were both so kind and accommodating. They're incredibly generous people who always ensured that I was comfortable and that I had everything I needed, and taught me a lot about growing produce that I am now using in my own garden.
I found both of them very easy to speak to, as they have many interests and both great humour. I really enjoyed working with them and mealtimes, which were always delicious! They made many different Dutch specialities for me that I'd never tried before and I got to try lots of the fresh produce. It's a really great balance between work and relaxation, which is very easy to do in such a lovely accomodation. The outside area is stunning and very nice to read and have breakfast in.
Thank you Steef and Eef for sharing your kindness and knowledge with me! My goal now is to be able to grow something edible in my garden before summer ends haha.

The most amazing first wwoofing experience we could’ve asked for - our time with Stefan and Eveline was enriching, rewarding and deeply enjoyable. They were incredible hosts who were generous with their work knowledge and advice to see the beautiful surrounding areas. It was a delightful balance of fulfilling farmwork and lifestyle activities.
We had a lovely private apartment to eat breakfast, live and sleep in! Amenities were exceptional - clean bathroom, fully stocked kitchen with weekly food allowance, big comfy bed for the two of us and a nice living room to unwind in the evenings after work.
The work was a great mix of mainly vegetable gardening and greenhouse activities. We learned how to fully prepare a plot, from weeding and aerating the soil to applying compost and wood chips and finally sowing or transplanting crops for future harvest. We loved the routine that allowed us to hang out with all the cute animals on the farm too - feeding the pigs, ducks and goats & playing with their sweet dogs Otis and Modi!
Stef & Eef provided lunch for us and cooked delicious dinners everyday. We were very grateful to learn new Dutch cuisine and shared in helping cook some of our favorite meals for them too!
We highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to learn about permaculture and biological farming, immerse in beautiful Dutch culture and surroundings and work hard with wonderful people! We will cherish our time here for many seasons to come.
Met liefde,
Omar & Ciara

We planted stuff, battled weeds, and built some new growing beds. Left with dirt under my nails, sore muscles, and a genuine appreciation for the daily work that goes into growing. Left exhausted but totally impressed by how they're growing food. Worth every muscle ache!
