1. Describe your project, your place, and its inhabitants (including animals): A adventurous Dutch-Brazilian couple decided to settle down when we were expecting our first child at the Dutch country side, transforming a former dairy farm into a small paradise where people can enjoy nature and animals and recharge. We built a number of holiday houses and pimped 2 caravans we rent to tourists (mostly young couples and families with young children), started a 300m2 permaculture vegetable garden in our fruit orchard in 2021 with volunteers and we are organising workshops related to permaculture and crafts. We are having a hard time doing all the above plus the maintenance of the property so that's where wwoofers come in. We have our own cow Nala, 5 very cuddly sheep, almost 20 chicken and 4 cats. 2. List the activities that WWOOFers will participate in and what you want to teach them: Daily tasks like laundry, cleaning sanitary facilities, organizing the communal space Maintenance work: mowing grass, sweeping, cleaning windows, removing weeds, tidying up the camping site Working in our permaculture vegetable garden and orchard Feeding animals, cleaning stables (less in the summer) 3. What could a WWOOFer's day look like at your site (time slot for participation in activities, expectations...)? 09:00 Laundry / folding 10:00 Tidying barn and yard 11:00 Cooking lunch for volunteers and family 13:00 lunch break 14:00 Mowing the grass / cleaning and preparing the caravans for guests 17:00 free time for a beer in the sun (or make a wood fire). or 09:00 Cleaning sanitary facilities 10:00 Cleaning chicken stable 11:00 Organizing the yard/ barn 13:00 lunch break 14:00 cleaning the windows 17:00 free time! Take a bike and ride to the lake for a swim and a picnic We are also excited to exchange accommodation for your knowledge in a residency program. Are you an expert in building wood fired saunas? A hobbit house? Climbing attraction of natural materials for kids? Food forests? Or do you want to organise a course, retreat, workshop? Just write us with a proposal. About your accommodation: We have a tiny caravan where you can stay, it has a double bed so two persons can fit there too (of course you won't be sleeping there with another volunteer you don't know). We are a small farm and we strive to have at least two volunteers but if you come alone it can be possible that you are the only volunteer (for some of the time). In that case, we need you to be ok with being alone most of the time, as we don't work in teams but you will be doing the tasks mostly alone. If working and eating by yourself is a problem, then inform about the situation at the chosen time. As we strive to have more than one volunteer, the idea is that volunteers prepare and have at least one meal per day together. One of the tasks when there is more than one volunteer will be for one person to prepare a meal for the volunteers and our family. We will provide basic ingredients for meals (bread, cereals/oats, rice, pasta, vegetables and fruits from the garden , eggs, proteins/meat). There's a fridge and kitchen where you can store and prepare your (communitary) meals. 4. Play the guide! Talk about your own hobbies (music, cooking, etc.) and those possible around (hiking, swimming, etc.): We are a creative family, love acrobatics, play (brazilian) music, nature and we have two young children (2020, 2021). We are outside a lot and at night we occasionally trow a party, organize a barbecue or lit a fire, but we also like to rest as our kids and our farm demand a lot of energy :) You are free to enjoy the farm, with friends or without, at night or go out and do some sightseeing! Have a look at our place on insta @huize_blokland In the area there are the charming cities Hoorn and Enkhuizen, for sightseeing, culture, shopping, eating and drinking. You have bikes at your disposal to explore the area. We are only 15min by bike from the IJsselmeer, a beautiful lake to swim, bike or walk. There are plenty of nice hikes in the beautiful area of West Friesland. We are only 10min by bike from the train station with good connections to Amsterdam.

— Hassan & Narcis 🌿

I had great time staying and working with my brother. Very beautiful farm and location. Lots of interesting work to do. Bikes available to run errands which was very useful and appreciated.
