Family home and garden - rural, Smallholding, Hobby Farm, Fruit tree nursery, Orchard, Mixed Farm
Gelderland
Hi, nice to meet you here!
Me and my eight-year-old son live at the most beautiful spot of Holland, in progress :) Since 1 August 2019, I am the proud owner of a Holiday farm with a mini campsite at a fruit orchard. The farm is a 2.3-hectare site with many fruit and nut trees, a small forest, three small ponies, goats and a cats called Moes. Barn owls also live in the area. A visitor told me last summer "It is like the surrounding is hugging you". I found it a heartwarming quote and I only can admit it! We have a nice campfire- and bbq place to talk and get to know each other. The camping season starts around March / April and focuses on groups at the weekend.
Cultural background
In the past I worked in the cultural sector as an cultural manager. I worked in disadvantaged neighborhoods where I used art as a means to tackle social problems. I studied theatre design, where I learned how to create new worlds on stage. This is what I'm doing at my job and I'm just starting to do it at my holiday farm. Together with art and nature, I create a place for freedom and happiness.
From beginner to pro
An important note is that I'm a beginner in biological agriculture, permaculture and food forestry as well. The positive thing is that I'm willing to learn from the best-educated people as well. So for any stage of working with the fruit-trees, the food forestry and permaculture, I'll ask well-educated people to teach us.
Type of work: Needed on short term
In the short term (in March, April) we need to do some restoration work (gutter repair, animal fences etc.) and I would like to have some help with renovation work. We also want to start with the flower garden and we have to do a lot of paint jobs. I would like to have help with this too. Are you ready for it? Please let me know :)
Inspiring DIY
Tell me your ideas so we can discuss the possibilities.
Sleeping
During this period you sleep in a caravan in the fruit orchard. It is also possible to bring your own caravan or camper to sleep in.
After work
After work, there will be a lot of time to explore the surrounding. Close in the neighbourhood, 5 min walk- or bike distance, you will find the river, the Waal. In between 5 and 10 min you find a big lake for swimming. The student city Nijmegen is 15 min by car. Arnhem, the inspiring place for art and culture, where I work as well, is 30 min by car. I'm willing to explore together and drive you trough de neighbourhood.
Last note
Since a koppel of years now, I worked and lived with Wwoofers. For me it's an very interesting experience and great opportunity to expand my world and learn from other cultures! I think it is a great way to meet new people and to get to understand their way of living and habits. I would be pleased to meet you at my place, cook, eat and learn together, show you around, show the surrounding, inspiring, working, learn and laughing together.

April 2026
For our stay in the Netherlands, we were welcomed by Olga, a wonderful host full of life and kindness. We were delighted to discover "The Hoogewaard" campsite with its vintage caravans and large yurts. During our stay, we learned many things, such as building a yurt, setting up stretch tents, taking care of the animals, tending a small forest, and much more. We are incredibly grateful to Olga and her son Yeppe for their hospitality. We left with our heads full of memories and we wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful place. Thank you, Olga, for your generosity and trust; we will miss you ❤️

Olga had the guts to take me in when I just rushed back from Italy in Corona time. Apart from courageous, she is a very creative, open minded, positive and inspiring woman and she really makes you feel appreciated.
It’s very easy to talk with her and her sense of humor is a feast.
I stayed for 4 months and it would be great to be back again one day.
Good pick!
