On our beautiful 3 ha (including 2000 m2 wooden 60 years old greenhouse) we produce more than 80 different organic vegetables, fruits, edible flowers, cut flowers and herbs. We sell it on the farmers market in Den Bosch, in our own outlet on the farm and to other local shops, restaurants and food lovers. We work with many volunteers, students, labourers and people in the process of recovery after burn-out or psychosis. The work is varied and most of the work is done by hand. On a normal day, around 5-10 people work on the farm. We expect you to work around 35 hours a week. In summertime harvesting may start as early as 6 am in order to guarantee the leafy vegetables remain fresh and crispy. You stay in a caravan on the property. If you want, we lend you a bike so that you can discover the beautiful surroundings (several nature reserves). Or you take the 3 min ride to the village centre of Haaren or a 10 min bike ride to the lovely Oisterwijk, or a 30 min bike ride to old historic town Den Bosch (s-Hertogenbosch) or industrial city of hip-Tilburg. Alternatively, you easily hop on a bus to one of these cities. We expect you to do the daily chores in the household and take turns in preparing the meal, that is not necessarily, but most of the times vegetarian. We assume you are a non smoker. There is much to learn on our farm and many people to learn from. We start growing crops in the greenhouse as early as February. You are welcome from the 1st of April till the end of September. I had an incredible time at Tuin de Es. It was my first WWOOFing experience, and I would definitely do it again! Tuin de Es is a magical place—peaceful and full of love. I met some wonderful, friendly people and had a lot of fun learning how to care for the beautiful garden with them. Bart and Daniella are truly great people—trustworthy, caring, and full of warmth. We can totally recommend this farm. The atmosphere is really nice and you are going to meet a lot of friendly and inspiring people from the surrounding area and also from all over the world. Also the hosts are very friendly and made us feel comfortable and welcome.
The work is quite diverse and we could learn a lot about the huge variety of vegetables, fruits and herbs that are grown on the farm. Beside harvesting it was also very nice to help planting new vegetables and taking care of the current plants.
We can really recommend you to visit the nearby historical cities like s‘Hertogenbosch and Breda, and to explore the surroundings by bike.
