This was my first WWOOF experience and it's been really positive. I spent 10 days at the farm, which just started in October, so there was a lot of preparation to do with the land and the first plants were being placed. It was intresting to listen Lori sharing her knowledge and explaining to me why we were doing things a certain way. Lori is kind and mindful, so I was able to check in with her about what my limits and capabilities are. I felt warmly welcomed by Tatum, Luc and the lovely kids that live at or around the farm(Jimy, Ture and Floris). It was great to experience this type of work and also spend free time outdoors in the beautiful surrounding area. I hope to visit again and defenitly this experience makes me look forward to do more WWOOFING.

I had a really good time at Danieke 's farm. It is something to live an entire week outside, between the work in the farm, the sleep in the tent and the rest in the glass room. After this I felt more calm and more connected with nature. The place is really peaceful. The work was physically a bit hard for me (but that was my first time working in a farm). Danieke kindly lend me a bike, in 10 minutes ride, I could be near to the sea. I also had the chance to go to a bigger city on the island (Zierikzee), it is a cute place. She is an interesting person, I am amazed by her will to go chase her dream.

I stayed on the farm for a month and it was a truly wonderful experience! From the first day, Johan and Bart made me feel welcome. They are really kind and always ready to explain things or answer questions. I learned a lot about farming, and I even helped with the cheese 😄. I would definitely recommend anyone to jump at the opportunity and embrace this experience. PS: I miss the animals, especially the little calves 🥺 Thank you so much for everything! Naëlle.

I had a short but insightful visit with Barbara and Jan. I began by joining them at the market in Amsterdam, where I learned how to shuck oysters. After that, we returned to Lauwersoog, where I spent the rest of my stay. Since it was January and cold, there were not that many things to do, so I spent most of my time reading and talking with Barbara and Jan. I really enjoyed those conversations because they are extremely knowledgeable and generous in sharing their experience and ideas, which encouraged me to reflect many topics. They are deeply passionate about the environment and human impact on it, and because their work is directly connected to it, they were able to share practical examples rather than just abstract concepts. Barbra is an amazing person and professional. I am deeply impressed by her and Jan's work ethic and generosity. Although the season limited activities, I still had the chance to try some tasks, such as collecting oysters from the bank, stringing fish for hot smoking, and helping with general kitchen work. Overall, I am very grateful for this opportunity and would recommend this destination to others.

Staying at Bouwie's felt like a privilege to me. He's openminded and caring. I loved being surrounded by this forest and working with the flow. Since I came just before winter time it felt even more like an adventure. Learning about off the grid power system and water system allowed me to feel more confident about what I was able to do. We had really good time having diner next to the fire talking about everything. I also had the chance to experiment volunteering here as single volontaire and also together with other volonteers. And of course it's nothing the same but I do recommend both. You can learn a lot about yourself there and go behind your boundaries. And also have real human connections. It made me more conscience about how a house work and how it can impact nature and so how we could adapt it to still suits our need. I'm thankful for this time !

I stayed on this farm for two months and had a blast. The hosts are incredibly warm and kind. Their homemade food was always delicious and everyday brought something new to learn. I gained hands-on experience with power tools - for example they thought me how to use a chainsaw - and I got to learn how to use a small tractor to plow the fields and clear out the forest. The animals are so cute, especially the two dogs and the sheeps, I will miss taking care of them. The area is beautiful and they put bikes at our disposition to visit it on days off and/or go to any city that you want to visit. Truly an enriching experience where I could meet so many awesome people. I definitely recommand!

I spent one month at Ank and Vincent’s farm, and it was a really great experience! The farm follows permaculture principles, and everything is done by hand, which makes the work very authentic and connected to nature. The regular tasks included weeding, planting vegetables and flowers, harvesting for the weekly baskets, and taking care of the compost. Every morning I also fed the chickens and watered the plants in the greenhouse. Sometimes there were different activities, like fixing a fence or attending presentations made by students. There are also cows on the farm, which add to the lively atmosphere. Ank and Vincent are very kind and welcoming hosts. They always make sure there is something useful to do and take time to explain and share their knowledge. The work rhythm is never too hard, and there is a good balance between work and free time. Even though I had never worked in a garden before, I learned a lot — about permaculture, teamwork, and the importance of observing nature. We often spoke in English and had interesting conversations about our cultures, discovering both similarities and differences. It was a very enriching experience, both practical and personal. I’m very grateful for my time there and definitely recommend this place to other WWOOFers!
